This is called a sender ID. When you&#8217;re sending business SMS, you have two sender ID options: to send from your brand name <em>or<\/em><strong> <\/strong>from what we call a reply number. In this scenario, your recipients <strong>cannot reply to the message.<\/strong> This is because there is no number for the response to route through to. But you have other options&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"padtop40\">Can I send from my brand name &amp; receive replies?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Not directly. But you can actually encourage recipients to respond via a reply number in a new message thread. When the recipient clicks the link, they&#8217;re taken to a new message thread, like below \ud83d\udc47<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/firetext.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tap-to-text-link-step-2.png\" alt=\"Keyword ready to send, after a recipient clicks a tap-to-text link\" class=\"wp-image-4183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tap-to-text-link-step-2.png 800w, https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tap-to-text-link-step-2-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tap-to-text-link-step-2-768x384.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also set up a auto-response, so that when the recipient sends the keyword, they receive a confirmation message. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>Thanks for confirming you&#8217;d like a callback! A comfort expert will give you a call shortly. If you&#8217;re busy, not a problem &#8211; we&#8217;ll personally follow up to arrange a time that suits you \ud83d\ude42<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top tip: <\/strong>Your sender ID can be up to 11 alphanumeric characters long. So you can get a bit creative. For example, if your company name was \u2018Personal Computer Fixers Ltd\u2019, you could change your sender ID to \u2018PCFixers\u2019. We recommend excluding any spaces, as when you send the message, most mobiles will typically strips out spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"padtop40\">Option 2: Send from a reply number<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses send <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/the-firetext-reply-number\/\">from a reply number<\/a> when they want to receive replies in the same message. You can also set up &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.firetext.co.uk\/hc\/en-gb\/articles\/115003608592-Can-I-forward-incoming-messages-\">forwards<\/a>&#8216;, so that when a recipient replies, you&#8217;re notified of the incoming message via email. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that&#8217;s not all! You can set up as a many <a href=\"https:\/\/help.firetext.co.uk\/hc\/en-gb\/articles\/115003608672-What-is-a-keyword-\">keywords<\/a> as you like on your reply number. This is super handy.
