SMS or instant messaging is a much easier way of getting to know someone in those early days, but as you sit comfortably at home writing and re-writing your text until you sound vaguely funny and interesting, remember there are some definite perils to text dating.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/valentines-blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-556\" src=\"https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/valentines-blog-300x211.jpg\" alt=\"valentines blog\" width=\"300\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/valentines-blog-300x211.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.firetext.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/valentines-blog.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Speak correctly<\/h4>\n<p>\u2018Hw r u m8?\u2019 is not attractive. You wouldn&#8217;t create your own lazy language if you were on the phone or face to face so why do it in text? It just makes you look stupid and makes the recipient confused.<\/p>\n<h4>Be yourself<\/h4>\n<p>You shouldn&#8217;t text anything you wouldn&#8217;t be prepared to say in person. Although text can be a great communication tool don\u2019t use it to hide behind.<\/p>\n<h4>Don\u2019t forget there is life outside of text<\/h4>\n<p>What do you mean you didn&#8217;t get an instant reply? Rude. Remember people have lives outside of texting you back and might actually be busy so don\u2019t panic when you don\u2019t get a response.<\/p>\n<h4>Don\u2019t dump over text<\/h4>\n<p>Seriously? Nobody wants to break up with someone face to face but it\u2019s much better in the long run to face your fears and do it in person.<\/p>\n<h4>Don\u2019t only talk on text<\/h4>\n<p>Whilst text can be a great way of sharing a bit of banter without having to put too much effort in, it\u2019s important to remember you are a human. Pick up the phone and make a call every now and again, or if you\u2019re feeling really brave arrange a date in person!<\/p>\n<p>Whilst texting can be a really useful communication and marketing tool; it is not ideal when used to communicate feelings.
